So the semester is coming to an end. I will offically be done on Monday and I will be a SENIOR! Ahhh I cant wait! So far I have gotten two grades back and they have been 2 A-'s :D I am so proud of myself.

Now the search for a job continues.

As of now it has been really had only because I am going away to DR for a month this summer and not a lot of people would want to hire someone that going to be gone for a month but I am staying positive. Plus I am trying to work more than just the summer so we'll see what happens. I forgot how annoying the application process was. I had to take a questionnaire for one of the applications whch was 230 questions long!!! It was a Likert scale from SA (Strongly agree) to SD (Strongly Disagree) it was so long. One thing that got me really mad was I was in the HR department filling out the application and I was able to fill out the Ethinicity section with Hispanic but then it got to Race section and I went to the lady and asked what should I put for Race? They didnt have anything for Latinos. So the lady said "You're White" Mind you the lady that said this was LATINA. I said "No I'm not" She said "Yes you are" with an attitude. I just walked away, I was so angry. In the end I checked I am more than two races. I could not believe her and the fact that she works for Human Resources just got me mad she had an attitude the entire time I was there. Human Resources is something that I am looking into and makes me mad to see people like her working in that position.

Besides that...

Today was such a beautiful day :) I went to the library and borrowed Eat Pray Love so far it's good! The movie is coming out soon so I hope to finish it before it comes out. My brother comes home tomorrow night :D !

So I was driving around today, it was really nice out and I started to miss my brother. We would usually drive around sometimes or it would be me driving him to his friends house lol. But still the house is really quiet and I miss having him around. I would at least have someone to talk to and watch tv, it kind of gets lonely. I cant wait til he gets home, Florida is too far. I'm at work right now, jammin to Pandora. Time goes by so SLOWLY here. I haven't really done much this spring break but sleeeeeeeep. I never really get to sleep so its nice to get to relax but I feel like I've been bumming it when I can be doing something. Either way it rained the past two days so it was ugly out. After this break we only have 3 more weeks of school left!! :D I'm so excited! Well even though im taking summer classes but its closer to my summer vacation to DR to see my cousins who I really miss. It was just one of those weeks. I got REALLY sick, I'm acually still getting over this cold. On top of that I had midterms this week, to find out I did pretty good on my Stats midterm :D I got an 82! So a lot has happened since the last I blogged...I kind of dont want to get into detailed becasue I will start to get in a bad mood about it but long story short $1600 was lost/stolen from my house. I say both because im not sure which of the two it is. The money was in my room and now its gone. I'm really upset about it becasue I was supposed to go to Alternative Spring Break with that money but I'm looking at it as everything happens for a reason. I've been feeling like I've been having a lot of bad luck lately lol seriously. Everything I get on the bus something happens, whether its the stupid driver missing my stop or the bus running out of gas. The other day when the big snow storm began I got out of school early and I got off to bus to then get to my car and see that my car was covered in snow and my car wheels covered in ice! The people that plow the streets put plowed it all over my wheels so I was stuck. Good thing I have great friends and Karla came to my rescue, my mentor is awesome!

But other than all of that I'm really looking forward to the Alicia Keys concert next month and Lupe Fiasco concert that I have to buy my tickets soon! :D by the way I got bored at work and made a tumblr: http://moonandthesky.tumblr.com

So I'm at work right now listening to the Lupe Fiasco station on Pandora about to get some work done for my classes feeling a bit overwhelmed, like I have so much to do but so little time. Ever since I posted that video of Lauryn Hill I've been singing that song every day. I started my internship this week for my Practicum in Psychology class. I'm doing it at The Door and basically what I'm doing there is tutoring students that are studying to take the GED exam. This friday I was on the GED panel talking about volunteering and internships. Whats sad to me is how many people drop out and don't graduate from high school. One of the girls that was there with me on the panel was telling me that some of these students are so behind that their levels are down to 5th grade levels. But I'm glad to be there and be able to help them out, it feels good to see that they are getting it and hopefully see them pass the test.

Welcome 2010!

Happy New Year! Hope you had as much fun as I did because I sure enjoyed it! I spent the night with my family, went to church then had dinner which is a tradition in my house every year. Then waited for the ball to drop and then was off to the city to meet up with my fabulous friends! Whenever my friends and get together we always have fun, we never let anything ruin our nights. We were supposed to go to a hotel suite but something happened and we just went to Pri's house and made the best of it. The night was reckless lol but definitely had a great time.

As the year was coming to an end, I began to think about the year 2009. Went through a lot of changes whether it was with my friendships, school, and family it was a lot. And I was able to grow from all of it. Glad that I have my family and friends to back me up on many decisions I have chosen because without them I don’t know what I would do. I’ve actually never felt as positive as I do with this New Year beginning only because I feel like it’s going to be a great year not only for myself but for my family and friends. <3

I used to watched sesame street everyday as a child growing up so much fun! They used to have many guest appearances. For the 40th anniversary they even had Michelle Obama on the show! It just brings so many memories back :)

So I just finished watching "In The Heights: Chasing Broadway Dreams" it was so inspiring. Like just having a play about Latinos on Broadway is crazy to me! By the way, the play is AMAZING. I saw it a couple weeks back, the acting was great and the music also! The documentary showed how the production was put together and the opening night. I'm acually at a loss for words because it was great! If you ever get a chance to see the play or the documentary please do, you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it.

Another inpiring moment:

Meeting Junot Diaz! He's the author of "Drown" and "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao." Not only is he the first Dominican to win the Pulitzer Prize in 2008 and many other awards, he's just like you and me who happened to follow his dreams and go far with it. My friends and I were talking after hearing him speak and he just inspired us to never give up and chase our dreams even if they seem impossible at the moment. It was an honor being able to introduce him and hearing him speak. Also I got a free copy of the book and he signed it :)

After hearing Junot Diaz and seeing the "In The Heights" documentary it really has made me think about what my dreams really are. I think about it everyday and still havent figured it out...but I will someday. <3

So this week I was doing hair modeling for a hair salon in Englewood, NJ called Iluminada. Great hair salon and great people. I love it, its something completely different. Just have to get used to it but either way its hair, it will grow back. Look at my new look!

School started about 3 weeks ago and for some reason I feel as if I'm already slacking, not good at all. But I will definitely be applying myself and putting an end to unnecessary things, considering really going MIA for a while just to focus on what I have to do for myself. I miss dorming sometimes but sometimes I'm glad I get to come home to a lovely meal and see my mom who puts a smile on my face everyday and reminds me not to stress at all. I feel as if our relationship has gotten better since shes finally realizing I'm getting older and can do things on my own. I miss my brother a lot. The house is really quiet without him here, and I feel like I don't get to talk to him at all because he's always busy but I know he's doing his thing in baseball and I am very proud of him.

Last night I got to see my girls and we got together to recap because its been a while since we were all together and it was great :) I know I can always count on them to change a situation into a positive/funny moment. We're all really busy with school and work but we can always count on eachother whenever we need eachother, don't know what I'd do without them <3

I'm at Pace right now, waiting for the financial aid office to open because I have to figure out my school situation. SMH. So I decided to blog while I wait, the office doesn't open until 9 and I got to Pace thinking it opened at 8.

To start, I just came back from Florida yesterday and I had such a great time. It was nice to get away with my family, we never get to spend time together as a family. We were also leaving my brother at school, he's at Southeastern University. The weather was lovely, got a nice tan, and I learned a lot about my family that I didnt know. Overall it was a great trip and I enjoyed myself. But as soon as the trip is over and I get back I check my mail and I get a letter saying my loan was denied. So now I have all this stress to deal with and figuring out if I'm going to be able to either get more money from school or get my loan approved, so much stress. But I just got to see what's going to happen with that.

Since I've been back from DR i havent had the chance to write here. But DR was great, it was so nice to see my family I had a great time with everyone. What I kept thinkng to myself while I was there was that I can't believe how much we have grown up (my cousins & I) I remember when we were younger, and we made up a group Las Tres Marias and we've always been close since then. I miss them a lot. Sometimes I wish we weren't so far away from eachother or I was able to visit more often. As we get older we may grow farther apart from each other but we will always be those three little girls singing and dancing Las Tres Marias. I love you guys.

I didnt really know him but the day I met him he was a pretty chill guy. We both went to work with our mothers the summer of `06. He didn't speak much english. We ended up going to the same high school for a couple of years, a few hi and byes in the hallways. Its just crazy how these things happen. This could've happened to anyone, and people take life for granted every single day. You never know when it will be your last day so live everyday as if it will be your last.

This was Monday, June 22nd, 2009. I'm on the A train heading uptown and I sit next to a woman who was knitting. It reminded me of the times when I used to knit. So I'm sitting there and I looked at her scarf and it was beautiful, it was purple and had many different patterns on it. It made me want to start knitting again. She then began to pack her things, her stop was coming up. She got up and grab a pole, and then I realized that she was blind. I was like wow, thats amazing. Definitely inspiring.

so finals have begun and so far they have been going well, 2 down 2 to go. I just can`t wait until this semester is over! this sesmeter was definately better than the last one. switching from business management to applied psychology and human relations was the best decision i`ve done all year :D i`ll be moving out of john street in less than a week. i`m acually excited but then again i have to talk to my madre about these rules. lol yeah i still got rules in my own house, but thats going to have to change asap. so, on sunday it was my brother`s 18th birthday. i can`t believe it, how the years pass by. but it was nice we all went to a yankee game which got postponed so we`re gong to another game august 22nd. its all good. it was nice having all of spend time together, we haven`t done that in a really long time. so i was happy :] i can`t wait until summer to get here! i hoping to go to DR for a couple of weeks and i cant wait because i haven`t seen my family in like 2 years. it should be exciting besides me taking summer classes, blah. sacrifices that have to be made to graduate on time. but now...sleep time.

i went on facebook this morning & my ma [http://bellelutte.blogspot.com/] left me a video talking about coldplay! & how much we love them & didnt go to their concert =[ but yeah it made me think about how much i really do love them. all the way from Yellow to The Scientist to Clocks...the list goes on....but the album that made me truely fall in love with Coldplay was X&Y. & every year they come out with an album its even better! we`re planning on going to a concert soon! cant wait :]

okay ladies, i know that leggings is the trend that has been out for the past year & what not...but please do not think that you can wear nylons/pantyhose as a replacement for leggings! thats a complete fashion no no. for the past week i`ve been seeing women abusing this. its acually pretty bad lol. for example: i saw this one girl wearing nylons with a t-shirt not a long shirt but a t-shirt that barely covered her...& she bent over & it was not a pretty sight! i was damaged for the rest of the day. haha but seriously leggings are of a thicker material, nylons are very light & SEE THROUGH. so you can imagine what i saw...so we need to stop this ASAP. thanks.

i don`t like the winter at all, i can`t stand the snow. but i do like seeing the snow fall from unside my house & not going in it. lol i took this picture during winter break, i definately made it a movie day & stayed in. :] im hoping spring comes soon so that summer can be here! i cant wait.

ahh, i love eating cupcakes :D they`re SO good. i`ve been wanting to go to a cupcake bakery forever but havent gone yet. this semester s my mission to go to a couple! its a must! but anyways, i had a great day...i hung out with jennifer. it was nice, we caught up a lot & reminicsed on the old days. good food, good laughs, good times. break is almost coming to an end, and spring semester begins soon. new semester, better grades! :]

i feel really good, i did a community srvice today. it was feed teh homeless & it felt good to give back & help them. i was around great people, got to chill with amparito lol & it was just a good time, met lots of new people. it was just nice seeing some expressions on peoples faces when you gave them a bag of food. they were really grateful & it made me feel really good that we did it. it took us forever to find the place tho! me & amparo were lost for about an hour & a half just trying to find the place. but it was all worth it. :]

this is should be an interesting year, by the way the beginning is going...im not the type of person to make a list of new years resolutions & what not, whatever happens happens. im supposed to be getting a new roommate, this should be interesting. im kind of hoping shes cool if i do get one. it would be even better if i have the entire room to myself :] ahhh it would. but yeah im just praying i get someone that i wont have any complaints about...hmmm but yeah. this winter break has been okay. i`ve been working a lot & spending a lot of time iwht my family. barely have had time to hang out with friends =/ i finally had the day off on friday, so i hung out with some friends, played taboo & pictionary schrades. it was pretty fun. lately i`ve been feeling really blah towards certain things, pretty much not caring because just seeing the way they`re going might as well not. im tired of getting the same response or the same thing. i cant explain it.

so, i work at Victoria`s Secret & the semi annual sale begins on Monday at 7AM. yeah i bet you`re all happy but IM NOT. yeah get extra discounts on bras & panties, but im still not happy. shoppers are so INCONSIDERATE about people working in retail. it gets me so mad. like can u at least pick up what you knocked down. the day before christmas eve the mall closed at 11pm and i didnt get out until 2:30am. ridiculous! its like they see me cleaning right in front of them & they just knock stuff down in front of me like its nothing. "oh its their job" thats what people say. oh pleaseeeee. but yeah, if you do go to the sale please be considerate of us. matter fact be nice to everyone that works in retail. :] thanks.

i can not wait until this semester is over. i`ve never been so stressed out in my life. its gotten to the point that i get no sleep at night and constant headaches [well thats nothing new] but anyways, i really cant wait until its all over. i have two finals left & then im DONE! i`ve never had such a horrible semester. but anyways...i guess im excited for winter break? i go back to the secret. im thinking about getting another job at the mall, but i dont know what store yet, we`ll see...

its its definately been a WHILE since my last post. damn im slacking. so school has been going well EXCEPT my classes are killing me. UGH. im def not doing well. not a good look. but on another note. i love my dorm & everything about it. i`ve been pretty busy with school & work, pretty occupied. i`ve been home but not as much as last year which is pretty good. sometimes i miss going back just a little...lol whats different from last year is that i guess since i dont have a meal plan or whatever i have to wither make something for me to eat or buy some. lol so its good, i cook for myself :] got my lil rice cooker. dont really depend on my mom as much, which is good. like she sends me food here & there but you know its like i can figure things out on my own. shes proud of me ;]

so im supposed to be packing but i keep getting distracted. a lot has been on my mind lately =/ i`ve been thinking that maybe sometimes its best to just leave things the way they are & not try to save it. sometimes you try so hard that in the end its not worth it. yeah its pretty much giving up but when you put so much effort into something & it ends up bringing you down might as well have left it the way it was. ehhh i dont know. sometimes when someone else is telling you how things are in the end that`s not how they REALLY are. hmmm. anyways...i was buying some of the last things i needed for school & i come across an item while i was walking to the register & i see oatmeal creme pies! they are the best ever! & i instantly think of my father. i bring them to the register & my mom goes "your dad favorite snack". no matter how much he doesnt talk to me or how much he doesnt care...i still miss him a lot. i think about him almost everyday, even called him on his birthday [he acually answered, but the convo was dead]. but yeah...im almost packed & ready to go back to school! leaving tomorrow [well today] & i cant wait! very excited :D back with my crew, even tho tonya wont be there :( very sad face. will try & make the best of it. we`ll miss you girl! its going to be an amazing year of studying & fun! :D <3

i just got back from seeing The Dark Knight with sasha`s family. & it was AMAZING. more than what i expected it to be. Heath Ledger was amazing. he really deserves an Oscar not because he passed away but because he deserved it for how well he acted in this film. i bet if people weren`t told that it was him, no one would recognize him because i sure wouldnt. it just sucks that he passed away the way he did...& this movie is doing so well. but yeah, if you haven`t seen it yet you definately have to go! i guarantee you`ll like it.

so it really has been a while since i`ve written, havent been able to but i finally got internet back in my house. :] but anyways, since school ended i was underestimating coming back to the little town of teaneck lol. was just trying to avoid certain things/certain people. but honestly it hasnt been that bad...if u say so. lol but for the most part im pretty content with how the summer is going. i get to chill with my girls more often & i got a job a v.secret & its going really well. sasha finally went to six flags for the first time ever, shes been wanting to go since she was in 4th grade! lmao. but what i really miss is the city, even though im not that far from it...i just miss living there, it really makes being home so boring. it makes me want fall semester to begin already, especially to get away from certain things here. but yeah... what i really wanted to do was get away like on vacation somewhere but i cant because im broke. ugh, it really sucks. i was trying to go to DR for a couple of weeks, it would`ve been so nice. but im gonna have to wait for that. but what im looking forward to this summer is going sky diving! we`re really trying to do it, just gotta make sure i got the money & im in there ;]

lately, i`ve been missing my father. & it sucks because he doesn`t wanna talk to me or my brother. its like he forgot he had kids. i dont know it really hurts me to know that he doesn`t even stay in touch with us anymore. i used to call him EVERYDAY just to see if he would answer & one day i just gave up to see if he would call me...but that never happened. i just wish he wasn`t the way he is. i still have his christmas present, a pace dad t-shirt. he wasnt even there for me when i got my honors certificate. its like he`s missing out in so much in our lives & he doesn`t care...
